This was one of the movies - along with Bless the Beasts and Children - the very early watching of which warped me into a bleeding heart liberal animal loving tree hugger.

Let me correct that for you:
This was one of the movies - along with Bless the Beasts and Children - the very early watching of which warped me into a bleeding heart round-house-kicking ass-whooping liberal animal loving tree hugger.
