Post No Less....

I've decided to take liberty's approach to cyber-life and stop posting here too.

I'm not sure when but when I get the call it could be right away unless maybe it's a long time from now. I have been committed and need to turn myself in.

Everyone should be nice to me and treat me as though this is the last time you'll ever hear from me because it might happen and could happen I don't really know. I'll miss everyone if I leave and I must because someday I will.

It's been fun and I don't want to go but I need to because if I don't it will not get done.

Now this surprised me, I didn’t expect this to produce drama. If someone wants to be nasty to me go ahead because you are rapidly running out of time. I don‘t care if people are nasty; I don‘t know them and I can ignore them. I will not wait until the last days.

Ahh Lib, don't get so touchy, it's just Joe being a bit of a bell-end.

Oh come on lib, this thread isn't drama, it's comedy...

You need to get some fresh batteries for your Satire Meter, ol' buddy...

If there's any "drama" here, frankly it comes from the original thread you started and the vague way you described what's going on with you... :?

Hey Lib fergit it, that's Joe. He held a popularity contest and put me in it just to show me how unpopular I was. I cried for weeks he's a bad bad man

I didn’t go into detail about my to do list because I didn’t think anyone would care to know. One example is that I need to finish my carport roof I started in September. I also have to do some work on my mother’s house. I may need to replace an exterior door, perhaps, there might be another way to solve the problem.

My job dominates my life, I work all night and sleep all day. I usually have a couple or three hours each day before I have get ready for work again. I work on standby and when I am not working I have to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

I am not addicted to forums I can quit any time I need to: there is no need for me to join Poster Anonymous. :)

That's not true I didn't do it just to show you how unpopular you was I did it to show how popular you was which coincidentally may not be as popular as just about everyone else.

I'm interested. Seriously, I am. I love hearing about home projects as I am a dedicated DIYer and always have some project that needs to get finished or started.

Other than the time of day, I think most of us are in a similar boat. I leave for work around 6am and am home about 5:30pm. Dinner, meeting then bed time. Weekends are for around the house projects. I'm a little late in building a cover for the wall A/C unit. I put plastic around it but I am making a box out of styrofoam to put over hte unit. Better insulation to keep the drafts out. Almost finished it up yesterday. Should be done tomorrow.
I enjoy home improvement projects and also enjoy learning new ways to get things done. Chances are I have done what you are going to do. Roofing, hanging doors, installing windows, hardwood floors, floating floors, sheetrock, painting (I HATE PAINTING!!!) wallpapering, bathroom and kitchen redo (ripout down to the studs), electrical wiring, garage door, appliance repairs, build a shed, put up a pool, install a chainlink fence.... You name it, I've probably done it.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward fixing the problem.
Repeat after me:
1. We admitted we were powerless over posting-that our lives had become unmanagable.

I can’t say that I like it, I would rather read and post, but I am glad I have your email address. I would like to talk to you about my mother’s exterior door, the latch points in the jam move based on ambient temperature. I have never seen that before. But I don’t have time to get very far into it now.

I stand in absolute awe of people who can do that kind of stuff...

After about three hours of work, I recently successfully installed a new shower head in our bedroom bath...(well pretty much successfully; it still leaks a bit...) I was so proud of myself, I called several of my friends to brag about it...

I replaced an electrical plug the other day, so chuffed, I damn near took a photo of it!

Mind you there's been a funny burning smell about the place since.

Send me an email. If you have any pictures send them also.

If it's moving based on temp/weather it's usually the boards in the jam swelling/unswelling meaning there is moisture penetration. No paint on the jam? Water getting in from above?

I fear those types of jobs the most. If the shower head doesn't come off easily, you run the risk of breaking the pipe behind the wall.

Strap wrench works best for removal/installation without marring the nut on the head.
And don't forget to use teflon tape on the threads before installing the new head. You either did not use teflon tape or didn't use enough or wrapped it in the wrong direction. That's probably why you are leaking.
