Residents in several parts of Chechnya and Ingushetia have been banned from picking wild garlic during the Sochi Winter Olympics, it seems.
The story appeared on the jihadist website Kavkaz-Tsentr, and says the ban will be imposed by Russian security forces. "The infidels and apostates have not explained in what way picking wild garlic in the forests... could endanger the Sochi Olympics," it reports.
During several security operations held in recent years, people picking wild garlic in parts of the North Caucasus region of Russia have been killed or wounded after being mistaken for rebels.
Kavkaz-Tsentr quotes unnamed sources as saying the ban will run from 23 January to 23 March in parts of Chechnya and neighbouring Ingushetia.
A similar story appeared earlier this month on Kavkazskiy Uzel, a regional news website. Local residents told the site police had warned Salafi Muslims not to leave the town from 1 February until the end of the Winter Paralympics on 16 March. It also mentioned that there was "no official confirmation" of travel restrictions on local residents.

My cousin (not really a cousin but very close family friends) and I would go bow hunting in the woods surrounding the Nassau Coliseum. Mainly between the Coliseum and the Meadowbrook parkway. We were about 14yo (1972) and we would hunt rabbits, racoons, muskrats, ducks, rats and whatever else we could shoot. (yes we ate what we shot, except for the rats and even made a few dollars on the rabbit/racoon and muskrat pelts). We were down by the creek (actually the Meadow Brook from which the parkway gets it's name) shooting at the rats that would run along the banks. All of a sudden a bunch of guys in black suits come out of the woods with guns drawn.
"What are you kids doing?".
"What's with the bows and arrows?"
"J-j-j-j-just hunting rats".
"Do you have any kind of ID?"
"No sir"
it's 1972, 14 year olds didn't have IDs. heck we probably didn't even have SS numbers yet. Back then SSN were not given out at birth, you had to apply to get them so you could then get working papers
"'you kids live around here?"
"yeah"
"Well get the hell out of here and go home."
We go back to my cousins house and tell my aunt about it.
We later find out Nixon was on a re-election campaign stop at the recently constructed Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Why does that remind me of this: in 1979, the Secret Service came to question people at Wisconsin-based game company TSR. Apparently, someone had seen a memo about a presidential assassination written on company letterhead.
It was regarding a playtest for the espionage-themed RPG Top Secret, which was first published in 1980.
