once again the image won't post (and I'm not even sure this was an original poster), but Lady of the Lake; it's a picture of the Lady holding Excalibur.

Yep, that was the image I got when I googled the movie. Thanks. The system here seems to bar uploading images.

Here are some more quotes:
Adrienne Fromsett: [Adrienne pitches Marlowe's story to publisher Derace Kingsby] And he's a very well-known private detective. That's what makes the stuff so authentic. So full of life and vigor and heart. So full of... what would you say it was full of, Mr. Marlowe?
Philip Marlowe: Short sentences.
That should just about give it away.

Keeping with the Christmas theme:
Ringle, Ringle, coins when the jingle
Make such a lovely sound
Guineas and tuppence and thruppence and bobs
Give them away and nobody can rob you
One more hint--it's to music

Another clue:
A hand for each hand was planned for the world
Why don't my fingers reach?
Millions of grains of sand in the world
Why such a lonely beach?
and
We'll have the Lord's bright blessing
Just knowing we're together
Knowing we're together heart and hand
We'll have the whitest Christmas
The simply brightest Christmas
A Christmas far more glorious than grand

A few hints: it has a number of musical numbers (written by major broadway talents at the time) from which both of the quotes were taken. Also, it was made for TV, and runs about 50 some minutes, making it inconvenient to show the networks show the full film (last time NBC tried it was cut so bad it was almost unrecognizable). Also, it is animated and stars a character one would never have thought would be in a film like this.
