Name That Movie!
Re: Name That Movie!
I’m thinking it’s one of two movies but I have my doubts about both of them
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
PLEASE, Please... Name That Movie!
I think I figured the tie-in with our recent arctic weather. So it gotta' be...

Re: Name That Movie!
My favorite line:
Well at least she's not the one who got fat.
We're pregnant you half-wit.
Yeah, well I hope your babies look like monkeys.

Re: Name That Movie!
Good try, Ray, there was in fact a very good friend in this movie, but your submission must be rejected for being wrong.
And darn you, BigRR, that was my next one. No problem, though, there are plenty of fine lines:

remember Mrs. Divitz's class, there was like always a word problem. Like, there's a guy in a rowboat going X miles, and the current is going like, you know, some other miles, and how long does it take him to get to town? It's like, 'Who cares? Who wants to go to town with a guy who drives a rowboat?
Re: Name That Movie!
Sorry LR, but it is a great line. I liked you last one as well.
Re: Name That Movie!
Certainly, BigRR cannot be the only one who knows this one:
H: Wow, all that time you guys were making my life hell, the A group was doing the same thing to you! I had no idea!
M: You know? I bet in high school, everybody made somebody's life hell.
H: Nope, sorry, never had the opportunity.
M: I bet that's not true...
H: You think?
M: Oh, yeah, you were really unpleasant.
Re: Name That Movie!
Another quote in this movie that out-cluelessed Clueless.
[mocking the film "Pretty Woman"] Aw, look, poor thing - they won't let her shop. Yeah - like those salesgirls in Beverly Hills aren't bigger whores than she is.
Re: Name That Movie!
How about another quote:
Christie: So, M! What are you up to?
M: Oh, okay. Um, I invented Post-Its.
Christie: No offense, M, but how in the world did *you* think of Post-Its?
M: Uh...
[looks across the room at R talking to Billy Christianson]
R: And I thought of them completely by myself. I mean, all M did was say: "What about making them yellow?"
M: [turns to the A Group] Actually I invented a special kind of glue.
Christie: Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you?
M: No. Um, well, ordinarily when you make glue first you need to thermoset your resin and then after it cools you have to mix in an epoxide, which is really just a fancy-schmancy name for any simple oxygenated adhesive, right? And then I thought maybe, just maybe, you could raise the viscosity by adding a complex glucose derivative during the emulsification process and it turns out I was right.

Re: Name That Movie!
How about quoting the title?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I got nothin
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Name That Movie!
Don't know this one either...
Re: Name That Movie!
Hint, one of the title characters has the same name as Obama's wife, the other has a name based on the capital of Italy, and the two are going to an anniversary party (or sorts) based on their graduation from secondary school.
Please someone answer. I'd rather not post a clue now.

There's always the option of giving the answer and then just throwing the next clue open for whoever would like to do one...Please someone answer. I'd rather not post a clue now.
Re: Name That Movie!
maybe the hints will help.
Re: Name That Movie!
Let's summarize the hints as this is a well known title, even if not many here watched it or watched it very closely.
This is a buddy movie.
It features a well-known comedic actress in her first movie role.
One guess was getting "mighty" close, which is a clue to the other actress's most well known role.
It involves a social event, an anniversary of sorts of a secondary school. We call these events a ------. (And no, it is not Grosse Point Blank, which does not fit any of the other clues, but did come out in the same year as this movie).
The stars act pretty clueless (i.e., airheaded).
There was a very good "friend" in this movie, which is another clue about one of the title characters.
One title character has the same name as the last president's wife (less an l), and the other title character sounds like the capital of Italy (or one of these characters might describe the Trevi Fountain as being "so ----").
We have had much less well known movies figured out with far less clues, even when someone doesn't recognize a quote or has never seen the movie.

Re: Name That Movie!
Besides/because of the fact that I'm not eligible this time, I went ahead and looked it up. I actually did remember the "HS reunion" part, but not the names of the 2 characters named in the title.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

OK, it's bee long enough
Romy add Michele's High School Reunion
the Image won't post for me--perhaps someone else can get it?
And I offer my turn to anyone who wants to post a new clue (after it is declared correct, of course.

This is not quite correct.Big RR wrote: Romy add Michele's High School Reunion

You are right, it is "and" not "add"
