This award is presented by the Graeme Clark Foundation, an Australian organization, and was established "to celebrate and acknowledge science innovation in Victorian schools that has added value to the school community by raising the profile of science through innovative practices, partnerships and programs." Below is a picture of the award plaque (which was designed and created by Melbourne sculptor Michael Meszaros) being presented to Kylie Lambert of the Maffra Secondary College for their on-going "Broadening Horizons" science program, the 2015 winner of the honor.

The image is said to depict two hands symbolically pulling back the surface of the earth to reveal that which lies beneath.
I'll be honest — that's not what I'm seeing.
