May 12th is Limerick Day, in honour of the birthday of Edward Lear, who popularized the art form.
Post your favourites. I'm a numbers guy, so I'll post this clean one to start, but I don't expect that they will stay that way:
A dozen, a gross and a score
Plus three times the square root of four
Divided by seven
Plus five times eleven
Is nine squared, and not a bit more.

Since it's early, I'll post this clean one before things get out of hand —
The limerick packs laughs anatomical
In a space that is quite economical.
But the best ones I've seen
So seldom are clean ...
And the clean ones are never as comical.

There was a young man called Ghandi
Who went in to the bar for a Shandy
With his great loin cloth
he wiped off the froth
And the barman said
"Blimey, that's handy"
Spike.

There once was a man from the sticks
Who liked to compose limericks.
Yet failed at the sport
For he wrote them too short.

There was an old lady named Hillary
Who carried some heavy artillery
She launched it at Trump
Who called her a frump
Then laughed and chained her to a pillory
