A six-year-old Massachusetts boy called 911 on his father, telling police his dad ran through a red light.

The Quincy Police Department said it received a call from Robbie Richardson of Quincy last Saturday as he attempted to turn in his father after the alleged driving faux pas, WHDH reported.

'Every day we answer numerous 911 calls. Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance,' the police department wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

'Sometimes, it's a simple misdial. Then there's Robert's 9-1-1 call.'

During the 911 call, Robbie is heard telling the dispatcher that his dad just ran through a red light.

'Um... daddy went past a red light,' Robbie says after being asked about his emergency.

'He has a black truck. And he was in the brand new car, my mommy's car,' he continues.

The dispatcher responds, asking the boy what happened next.

'And then he just... and he had to go to the car wash and then he went past the red light.'

'He did?' the dispatcher asks, and Robbie responds, 'mm-hmm.'

The dispatcher then asks Robbie if he can talk to his dad.

When Robbie's dad comes to the phone, he apologizes and mentions his son had made the call.

'He just wanted to let us know you ran a red light,' the dispatcher says.

The father, laughs and says, 'Oh no, I apologize,' and notes there is no emergency before the officer lets him go.

Damned kids. They don't know when to shut the fuck up. A little bit of corporal punishment will surely soften up his anti-familial behavior. I'd recommend a stint in a military boarding school for the little brat. That will teach him.

What's the matter with kids today?

Cell phones are the root of all evil. That kid shouldn't be allowed to use one until he is 18 yrs old. As a matter of fact, all kids should have to wait until they are 18. Before cell phones, kids were well behaved.

I fail to see the connection between the thread title and the content — someone drove through a red light and the kid used his cellphone to rat him out, which quickly segued to a comment about how kids under 18 shouldn't have cell phones.
Now, if the 911 call had been the kid turning in the father because the old man was making him mow the lawn, then maybe I could understand it.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

verb: grass; 3rd person present: grasses; past tense: grassed; past participle: grassed; gerund or present participle: grassing

1. cover (an area of ground) with grass.
"hillsides so closely grassed over, they seem to be painted green"
synonyms: turf, sod;
feed (livestock) with grass.

2. British informal
inform the police of criminal activity or plans.
"someone had grassed on the thieves"
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

He turned rat on his father for running a red light?

What a perfect little bureaucrat he'll make...

Somebody needs a lesson in the virtues of not being a snitch.... :)

The gov could use that kid instead of red light cameras. In 20 years he could retire with a nice pension.

Three strikes:

1. Run a red light.
2. Kid has a cell phone.
3. Father talks on phone to 911 operator while still driving the car?

I believe talking with a 911 operator is an exception to the no talking on a cell phone while driving law.

Unless it involves reporting someone for running a red light...

Which is a misuse of the 911 system under any circumstances...
