A six-year-old Massachusetts boy called 911 on his father, telling police his dad ran through a red light.



The Quincy Police Department said it received a call from Robbie Richardson of Quincy last Saturday as he attempted to turn in his father after the alleged driving faux pas, WHDH reported.

'Every day we answer numerous 911 calls. Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance,' the police department wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

'Sometimes, it's a simple misdial. Then there's Robert's 9-1-1 call.'

During the 911 call, Robbie is heard telling the dispatcher that his dad just ran through a red light.

'Um... daddy went past a red light,' Robbie says after being asked about his emergency.

'He has a black truck. And he was in the brand new car, my mommy's car,' he continues.

The dispatcher responds, asking the boy what happened next.

'And then he just... and he had to go to the car wash and then he went past the red light.'

'He did?' the dispatcher asks, and Robbie responds, 'mm-hmm.'

The dispatcher then asks Robbie if he can talk to his dad.

When Robbie's dad comes to the phone, he apologizes and mentions his son had made the call.

'He just wanted to let us know you ran a red light,' the dispatcher says.

The father, laughs and says, 'Oh no, I apologize,' and notes there is no emergency before the officer lets him go.
