How Far They Have Fallen....

I thought it might be fun to start a little "audience participation" thing going on a topic we haven't addressed before...
What's your best example of a major film or TV star who's career totally tanked?
I don't mean where the person did a Francis Farmer/Margot Kidder routine and tanked
their own career....
Just those former "A list" actors who stayed in "the business".... albeit in humiliating and embarrassing ways.....
My personal nominee for this dubious distinction is Robert Vaughn.....
Napoleon Solo, of
The Man From U.N.C.L.E fame.....
Suave, cool, debonair....
Star of a smash hit, and an iconic show....Watched by millions of people every week....
I saw him about three years ago on TV doing an infomercial for
The Helsinki Formula, a topical "hair growth" product....(Gee, I hope Bob's check cleared before this bunch had to clear out the bank account and split town to set up their next scam...)
I really felt bad for Robert Vaughn.... that's worse than
Hollywood Squares.....
Any other nominees?

Not an actor, but I recall seeing Roger Daltrey doing some bad acting, and being hyper-pseudo-excited about some '60's music CD...

How about the entire cast of Taxi?
Excepting Judd Hersch and Danny DeVito.
Although the last I saw Judd was in Independence Day...

And was
great in that as Jeff Goldblum's father....

Well, to be fair, Tony Danza had a successful series...
And Marilu Henner has pretty much replaced Patty Duke as the go to neurotic middle aged woman in "Lifetime Channel" made for TV movies....
And of course, there was Andy Kaufman...
And the incomparable Christopher Lloyd...
The one who's career
really went off a cliff was Jeff Conaway.....
You may not even remember his name....(I didn't until I Googled it) He was the guy who played Bobby Wheeler, the would be actor...originally he was supposed to be one of the stars of the show, but his role got progressively smaller to make more room for Lloyd and Kaufman...
His one great claim to fame is that he used to be married to Olivia Newton-John's sister...
This guy couldn't have gotten a gig on
The Love Boat....

Here's one that will
really scare you...
Without Googling, can you tell me who
this man is? (or was)

Holy Batcakes, that's Robin!
But I don't think any of these folks really qualify as "stars," more like flash-in-the-pan successes. Has anyone seen the Six Million Dollar Man lately?

Yes!
(But only because I saw an old Fall Guy poster with Lee Majors on it.)

Holy Batcakes, that's Robin!
Well color me impressed....
That is indeed Burt Ward....
I didn't think
anybody would get that....
If you didn't Google Sue,
how did you figure out that was Burt Ward? Do you know him personally?
Has anyone seen the Six Million Dollar Man lately?
Yes, he's been selling hearing aids....
And The Six Million Dollar Woman has been hawking mattresses.....

What ever happened to Don Johnson?
And even worse, the black guy who was his partner on Miami Vice?
I don't remember his name.

Keld, I think you should leave my undies out of this -- but they are not wool
LJ -- I swear on the US Constitution that I did not google, or use any other search engine. Beyond that, my reasons and methods shall remain my own

I knew it without googling also.
I simply right-clicked, chose 'view image' and looked at the URL.
That is where I saw this -
http://files.myopera.com/themugs/blog/burt%20ward.jpg
And being the observant detective that I am, when I saw 'myopera' I knew that it was a picture of Oprah Winfrey.

The late Farrah Fawcett. After Charlie's Angels she really never did anything of any serious account.

She did The Burning Bed.
Farrah Fawcett earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal of Francine Hughes in the television movie The Burning Bed.
Link
Don't remember anything else she did though.

Jan Micheal Vincent was not Don Johnsons partner, he played Stringfellow Hawke and was Earnest Borgnines partner in the show Airwolf.
