Taylor Momsen has apologised to fans in Glasgow after an on-stage blunder which saw her booed for calling the Scottish city the "craziest... in all of England".
The 17-year-old actress-turned-singer performed with her band The Pretty Reckless in Glasgow last week but the concert fell flat when the Gossip Girl star got her geography wrong.
"Glasgow you are looking good tonight. We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England," she told the audience.
The comment drew jeers and boos from the riled crowd.
"The noise from the crowd was deafening. People began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped (when they realised) all you could hear was boos," student Paul Krane told Scotland's Daily Record newspaper.

A "Hello Cleveland!" moment...
A "Hello Cleveland!" moment...
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

The best variation I have heard on this was from Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis:
Hugh: Good evening everybody and I must say how good it is to be in Birmingham tonight.
Steve: Oh please! That is just the same condescending bullshit that sad wankers trot out every night no matter where they are performing!
Hugh: But it's different tonight Steve...
Steve: Different? What makes tonight any different?
Hugh: Because tonight Steve, we actually are in Birmingham!
Steve: Fair enough, carry on.

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
