A Maryland woman was arrested last week after apparently being unable to resist the temptation of crispy, hot, fresh, salty French fries.
An unidentified police officer who was dining at the Italian Pizza Kitchen in Washington D.C. last Wednesday when the woman approached and tried to start a conversation, WUSA reported.
During the chat, the woman allegedly reached over, took a French fry and ate it. Then, she did it again.
“I then politely asked D-1 to not do that again because I paid for that food and she was stealing from me and she could be arrested for theft of my food,” the officer wrote in a police report cited by FOX 5.
“Well then you might as well take me to jail,” said the woman, who was not publicly named,
With that, she snagged another fry.
The officer arrested the woman and charged her with second-degree theft. The Washington Post noted that the police report listed the items stolen as “French Fried Potato . . . quantity 3.”
meanwhile some poor slob is getting rolled for the change in his pocket
Arresting the woman for theft is certainly an over-reaction, but when did it suddenly become OK for someone to nosh off of your food? If I'm on a date with someone and she snitches a couple of my french fries or a bite of my entree that's one thing, but for some random woman to walk up to my table and start helping herself to stuff off of my plate is something else again entirely.
Now the cop is going to be pilloried in the press and social media and will be lucky to escape with a written reprimand in his personnel file, while this woman — who has all the social graces of a chimpanzee — will probably get the charge dismissed. Then she will likely find some scheißer lawyer or someone from 'Black Lives Matter' to file a suit against the cop for violating her 'civil rights'.
Why did I drag BLM into this? Because I spent almost fifteen minutes trying to find something on the internet that either shows a picture of the woman (booking photo, for example) or gives her name with a marked lack of success. Since she was actually arrested — in fact, one of the articles I did find stated that the officer initially involved called for a female officer to respond and assist — this information should be a matter of public record, but for some reason it is being withheld. I'm also considering the makeup of the DC neighborhood in which the incident occurred. While it's not proof positive, it does make me think that this woman more than likely displays an overabundance of melanin ... and of course, we mustn't hold those people responsible for anything. -"BB"-

"Those people?"
You've piled speculation on top of bullshit on top of total ignorance.
Congratulations you've become Liberty. Or Wes.

Yeah — "those people". I've got a couple other words I could have used; words that used to be perfectly acceptable such as "colored" or "Negro"; words that are still in use (see NAACP — the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or the UNCF — United Negro College Fund); but I no longer know what it is they want to call themselves to be called (and I will touch here on the fact that apparently it's OK for themselves call each other a 'nigger', 'nigga', or some other variant; but heaven help us if a "privileged white person" like myself uses the term). -"BB"-

Right or wrong, BB raises some other interesting questions.
Mine is, did it really happen?

a police report cited by FOX 5
Clearly, it did happen, unless you are suggesting that the police officer made the whole thing up.

No fries served at the Italian Kitchen? Roll the tape: (Would FOX lie to you?)
In BB's defense I thought I would add the ethnic diversity found in DC. Whereas I wouldn't speculate on the race of the perp he's probably most nearly correct. Plus, if you watch the vid I didn't see any white people entering or leaving this fine food emporium. I didn't even see one Italian.
Demographics of Washington, D.C. / Race and ethnicity (2014)
Black 46.0%
White (includes White Hispanics) 40.6%
Hispanic or Latino (of any race) 10.4%
Asian 3.0%

And what bearing does that have on a police officer abusing his authority by arresting someone for scarfing three of his french fries, just because his feelings of inadequacy about his penis size made him feel the need to throw his weight around?
How much did it cost to process that ridiculous arrest that no sane DA would ever take to trial? it should come out of his pay.

Officer Javert probably adheres to ex-Mayor Giuliani's "Broken Window" theory.

It was in the evening (around 9:00 PM or thereabouts) this past Wednesday, and according to the police report — which local reporters were able to access although my websearches are still turning up bupkes — there were two women involved, both of whom appeared to be (in the officer's opinion) under the influence of alcohol or another mood-altering substance. -"BB"-

under the influence of alcohol or another mood-altering substance.
Somebody wandering around taking food off the plate of a total stranger in a restaurant...
Yeah, I'd say that's a pretty safe bet...

Don't worry Bill, you're only privileged in your wildest dreams.
And I bet you've never been in that neighborhood in DC, so what the fuck do you know about it? Having lived there for a decade, I can tell you your ass-umption is wrong.

I've worked in the criminal justice system in very homogeneous places like Maine and Montana, as well as in very diverse places like Arizona and Washington, D.C.
Melanin has nothing to do with stupidity and criminality, which exist in abundance amongst all skin tones that comprise the human race.
Just a really gross statement, BB. 'Those people' are us, not other.
