Funny . . . but true.
One of the reasons some men are really angry, because they no longer matter as much as they used to. We can support ourselves, get credit, get educated, get children, get everything we want in life without submitting. And I can tell you that the biggest disappointment of my life has been to realize how many men - even well-educated, even allegedly 'progressive' men - still have a sense of entitlement and expectation of some level of submission/subservience from the women in their lives.
And a lot of those men voted against Hillary for the reason that she has breasts and a uterus, and no other.
I know, it's none of the men here. But there are many, many of them out there. Still.

I have no doubt that your statement is true BSG, and it was reflected in some of the men's vote counts discussed on election night. The thing that surprised me is Trump's popularity among women, however--that's not so easily explained.

I'm not as surprised as I want to be about that result. Having come up in and worked mostly blue collar jobs until I got to law school, I know that the sexism that women experience in those settings is still so 'normative' that many blue collar women were probably not shocked at all by the revelations about Donald's profound sexism. Being on the job and being ogled for your body parts or hearing very sexist language and jokes and getting sexually harassed in the workplace is still rampant for those women, who have very little power to stop it or options to get away from it.
Further, a great many of those women love blue collar men who often heavily influence their votes. Those photos of Donald and Eric Trump spying on their wives while voting? That's not so uncommon, I'm sure. I've read numerous posts in the past week on Pantsuit Nation (private Facebook group for Hillary supporters, male and female) about marriages that are coming to a breaking point over this election, written by women whose partners were very aggressive in demanding they vote for Trump and/or retaliating because they didn't. There are literally divorces happening over it.
Beyond that, white uneducated women are as easily manipulated as white uneducated men by demagoguery; just having a uterus & breasts doesn't mean we are any better. Just equal, which includes the equal ability to be stupid and vote against our interests.
