;-)
Council house tenants have been banned from putting up wreaths on their front doors this Christmas.

Residents have also been told they're not allowed to put festive decorations in the communal parts of their homes because of the risk of fire.

David Barter, who lives in Dray Court, thinks it's an "over-interpretation of the rules".

East Devon District Council said it wants to keep people safe.
So that's "hanging pictures on your wall", front door mats, and wreaths, banned, and you must have a yellow line on any step or curb.

George Orwell would have laughed as at storyline so preposterous.

Come on Strop...

You let people hang a Christmas wreath on their doors, and the next thing you know they'll be installing slides, swings and barbecue pits in the hall way...

and hanging pictures up in their houses, with no thought for others.

More yellow kerbs are what's needed.

The "hanging pictures on your wall" or "in their houses" was a bullshit rendition of what actually took place i.e. it was in the hallway of an apartment building, at the top of a staircase.

Maybe they'd let them use these doormats:

And here's the perfect one to put out when you're expecting a visit from the Council Housing Inspector:
