Okay, this one started as a 2-part mini-series that was so well received that it then spawned a second 3 part mini-series, and then finally a regular three season show...(And more recently also a pretty crappy short-lived remake.)
The original mini-series and the second mini-series were vastly superior to the regular series that followed. (The poignant message of the two mini-series' gradually got lost as the show got campier and campier, and the writers couldn't seem to figure out where to go with it...)
That alone ought to be enough for anyone at all familiar with the series to get the right answer, (since I don't think there's any other show in TV history that had that evolution...two mini-series, a regular series and a remake...) but here's the first quote...
