I think your post was misplaced, Gob. I don't see anything funny about any of that.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Unlicenced driver stopped on lockdown trip with paving slabs
A motorist flouted the coronavirus lockdown to pick up paving slabs while driving without a licence.
Hampshire Police said the driver was travelling from London to Bournemouth and faced a "very long walk home" from Ower, in the New Forest, where they were stopped.

It was all going so well!! Driving from London to Bournemouth and back to pick up paving slabs is NOT an “essential” journey! Plus it helps (a little) if you have a driving licence. Driver reported for numerous offences and has a very long walk home from Ower! #3241 #3748

A family have been sent home by police after driving nearly 200 miles (322 km) to go fishing, despite restrictions being in place due to coronavirus.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the family from London was discovered near Torquay at about 05:00 BST.
Control room supervisor Mike Newton said they were fined and "escorted out of Devon", adding: "I shall refrain from further comment."
The government advice is to stay at home and away from others.
It repeated messages against holiday travel and to only go outside for food, health reasons or work where essential ahead of the Easter weekend.

Second-home owners in the UK are reportedly ignoring the coronavirus lockdown rules by posting their luggage ahead of them to avoid detection at police checkpoints. According to The Sun, couriers have reportedly been tasked with transporting luggage for those looking to escape to coastal regions during the Easter bank holiday.
During the government’s lockdown, road blocks have been set up by several regional police forces to dissuade would-be holidaymakers from traveling. By sending their luggage in advance of their trip, second-home owners have reportedly been able to pass through the checkpoints since officers have no reason to suspect they are on holiday.

Just one more example of how privileged people feel that when you've got enough money (in this case, money enough to be able to hire a flunky to transport your luggage for you, or to own a second home in the first place) the rules don't apply to you.

Idiots!!
A family claimed a 500-mile round Lake District trip was acceptable if they wore masks and gloves, police said.
They were stopped by officers in Lancashire as they enforced the coronavirus lockdown rules.
The family admitted driving from Greater London on Easter Monday.
Lancashire Police issued the driver with a fine and sent them back home. The family were criticised as "absolute idiots" and called "clowns" after the force posted about it on Twitter.

Seven men on trip to Santa Cruz for 'essential drinks' fined $7,000, police say
Seven men from Fremont on a road trip to Santa Cruz were cited tickets totaling up to $7,000 for violating shelter-in-place orders, police said.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, Santa Cruz Police Chief Andrew Mills said that the men came from Fremont "to get some 'essential' drinks." The police did not indicate where the men were arrested, although the photo posted by Mills shows them sitting outside a 7-Eleven store.
"7 x $1000 = One Expensive Hang Out," tweeted the Santa Cruz Police Department. "Everyone should know by now that this is not the time to meetup and party. Officers cited seven $1000 tickets for #ShelterInPlace Violations to help these guys remember their time in Santa Cruz."
On Wednesday, Santa Cruz County banned surfing and closed parks and beaches through April 15. Fines for non-essential businesses that stay open and people who gather in large groups would be up to $1,000, The Mercury News reported. Mills told KNTV that his officers have already written dozens of citations to residents and visitors.
“We’re serious about it,” Mills told KNTV. “Stay home. Don’t come down to Santa Cruz right now. After this is over, come down and enjoy the waves, the sunshine, the beach. But right now is not the time.”

Looks like some police departments have found a better way to raise funds than the good ol' speed trap.

This'll learn the little sod..
Shocking video footage has emerged showing two young boys threatening Asda employees and screaming and swearing at them before one is dragged back to the store by his father and forced to apologise.
In the short clip, the two boys can be seen intimidating employees outside of the Asda store in Gosport, Hampshire, as staff attempt to guard the entrance to the supermarket on Bank Holiday Monday.
One boy can be heard shouting: 'I'll jump on his head fam - do you understand?'
As the member of staff begins to slowly walk towards the boys, she is quickly pulled back by a fellow colleague.
The incident was posted on Twitter by a woman from Gosport who captioned it: 'My stepdad got a shot of Gosport finest outside Asda this afternoon.'
She added: 'Update: anyone who wants to know one of them was dragged back by his dad to apologise. The video is on Gosport aware Facebook page if you want to watch it. You can call my stepdad the Gandhi of Gosport.'
One of the boy's fathers posted a picture and video of his son apologising to Asda staff and described how he has 'never been more disgusted and mortified' by his child.
The boy is seen with his hands in his pockets as he says: 'I didn't mean for any of this to happen I was just angry.'
His outraged father then makes him apologise to all the staff at Asda before calling him a 'vile-mouthed little b*****d.'
The father said Hampshire Police were notified when his son did not return from his daily exercise and added: 'Both myself and my wife take the Covid-19 pandemic very seriously.
'For everyone who has seen a video of this boy threatening members of staff at Asda yesterday.
'As a dad I have never been more disgusted and mortified with my son in my life. He has not been brought up to behave in this manner and I do not condone his behaviour at all.

Journalistic standards have left the room - "fellow colleague"? Why didn't they add "co-worker" to make it clear?she is quickly pulled back by a fellow colleague
And as for dad:
Really?"thurally"

Re: What did you do during the Covid-19 pandemic dad?
A local television news reporter from California accidentally filmed her husband naked in the shower while filming a report from the bathroom of her home.
Melinda Meza is a correspondent for KCRA 3 in Sacramento and is usually based in Joaquin County where she acts as the bureau chief for the region.
However, a lockdown due to coronavirus across the Golden State means most roving reporters are having to broadcast their segments directly from home.
During a report about tips on how to go about hair styling while quarantined at home, a figure could be seen in the shower.
The silhouette is believed to be that of Meza's husband, Mike de Lambert.
The pair have been married since 2004.
Twitter users were quick to react to the sudden glimpse.
‘Omg please let that not be her husband,’ wrote one Twitter user.
‘Damn why she wanna work when she’s got all that at home?’ joked another.
Another user was more worried about the segment being viewed by her husband.
‘Hope her husband doesn’t see this!’
Another person said that they believed the figure in the shower was in fact a reflection of the husband who was attempting to keep out of sight, not realizing he could still be seen.

I hope there was no "self abuse" (as the nuns used to call it) in progress during this vid.
That would be wrong, and sinful.

Trinny Woodall's partner Charles Saatchi was accidentally filmed naked as the fashion expert recorded her livestream on Facebook amid the UK's coronavirus lockdown.
In the now-deleted clip from Tuesday, the style guru, 56, treated her social media followers to some fashion and beauty tips when the businessman, 76, popped into frame before heading into the shower.
The This Morning star appeared to ignore the mishap as she continued to detail her skincare routine while broadcasting from their West London home.
The accident was noticed by a fan, who admitted they weren't aware of Trinny's reaction as the media personality covered her face with a £400 LED mask when the art collector appeared.

Wales' health minister has apologised after being caught swearing about a Labour colleague in a video conference - to the appalled horror of everyone else on the call.
Vaughan Gething could be heard muttering: 'What the f*** is the matter with her?' in reference to Cardiff Central AM Jenny Rathbone.
The blunder was made after he left his microphone on by mistake in a virtual Welsh Assembly session conducted via Zoom this afternoon.
Ms Rathbone had been asking questions about the Welsh Government's response to the coronavirus crisis, the BBC reports, before the gaffe, which left colleagues open-mouthed, laughing, and covering their faces in shock.
Mr Gething has since apologised to his colleague, as opposition leaders have called for him to be sacked.
He tweeted: 'I'm obviously embarrassed about my comments at the end of questions today. I've sent a message apologising and offered to speak to Jenny Rathbone if she wishes to do so.

Re: What did you do during the Covid-19 pandemic dad?
I need context to judge that mishap; was Ms. Rathbone sounding as dimwitted as the mayor of Las Vegas or the President of the USA? (If so, one could hardly blame him.)

A well-meaning cleaner who took the opportunity to give a locked-down library a thorough clean re-shelved all of its books - in size order.
Staff at Newmarket Library, Suffolk, discovered the sloping tomes after the building underwent a deep clean.
James Powell, of Suffolk Libraries, said staff "saw the funny side" but it would take a "bit of time" to correct.
"It looks like libraries will be closed for a while so we'll have plenty of time to sort the books out", he said.
"The cleaner is lovely and does a great job in the library. It was an honest mistake and just one of those things so we would never want her to feel bad about it," he added.

That’s not so bad really - I’m sure she did it shelf by shelf which means it will be very easy peasy to put right, the books being labeled on the spine with Dewey decimal number.
I had a summer job in college deep cleaning the reference section of the college library; I learned how little used much of it was by the depth of the dust on the vast majority of books.
