Fulham have confirmed the club will soon be home to a commemorative statue of Michael Jackson following a request by owner Mohamed Al Fayed.
Al Fayed, a friend of Jackson's, commissioned a statue of the iconic singer soon after his death in Los Angeles in 2009.
The billionaire had initially planned to erect the statue outside his famous Harrods department store in Knightsbridge but has now decided that the Jackson memorial should be placed at Craven Cottage.
The statue shows Jackson - who visited Craven Cottage as a guest of Al Fayed before his death - in one of his signature poses and will stand on the banks of the River Thames.
"Michael Jackson was truly a legend, a term used too often in this modern world saturated in the hyperbole surrounding celebrity," Al Fayed said on Fulham's official website.
"He was my friend, a man with whom I shared many happy memories and who died a tragic and untimely death.
"He left behind a legacy of music so vast it takes one's breath away; from a precocious talent to an ingenuity and groundbreaking modernity that shall never be repeated.
"It shall often be imitated, but it will never be replicated.
"Michael Jackson was, and shall always remain, one of a kind.
"I hope that many fans of his will visit the statue at the Cottage from far and wide, and that Fulham fans will appreciate seeing the finest performer in the world in and amongst them, the finest fans in the world."

When I think of Fulham NATURALLY I think of Michael Jackson. The two are as one in my mind.
Still, you know my opinion on Dodi's shrines to those he loved. I still have-not been able to eat cream or drink champagne since seeing his tribute to his son and Di in the basement of his shop.

Oh dear....

I don't want to appear racist, but does that not look more like a singing chimp than Jackson?
Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed has told fans they can "go to hell" if they do not appreciate a new Michael Jackson statue at Craven Cottage stadium.
Mr Al Fayed unveiled the statue on Sunday prior to the west London Premier League team's match against Blackpool.
The statue was commissioned following Jackson's death in June 2009 and was due to be erected at Harrods before Mr Al Fayed sold the Knightsbridge store.
"Why is it bizarre? Football fans love it," he said after the unveiling.
Outside the stadium, Fulham fan Michael Tune said: "We're a laughing stock. It has nothing to do with football."
Another Fulham fan, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "It makes the club look silly. I thought it was an April Fools joke."
But Mr Al Fayed said: "If some stupid fans don't understand and appreciate such a gift this guy gave to the world they can go to hell.
"I don't want them to be fans.

Oh Ferfucksake!
What the fuck is THAT?
The legs are too short. The arms are SERIOUSLY too long. (His punching arm would reach his knees if unfurled.). And not once in his life did he actually have the face that the sculpture has put on top of his neck.
The man has NO TASTE whatsoever and I find it extremely funny that he runs Harrods, a so called bastion of good taste.

He doesn't run Harrods anymore Hen. He flogged it to the Qatari royal family last year for £1.5b.
Now here's a Fulham fan the supporters would be proud to have as a statue...

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: Fulham footy to get Pedo Statue courtesy of Egyptian nut
Its probably for the best he flogged Harrods. everytime I had been in it I found it a tad tacky. Ill be interested to have a poke around next time I am there to see if its improved.
AndI agree 100% about Wolfie Smith.

I prefer this one!
t's like looking at a man in the mirror.
But a new statue depicting the heart-stopping moment Michael Jackson dangled his nine-month-old son from a fifth-floor Berlin hotel balcony has sparked outrage from his fans.
The London music studio where the life-size sculpture of the late king of pop with baby Prince Michael II is on display has become the target of hate mail and death threats.
It was unveiled just two days after Fulham Football Club chairman Mohammed Al Fayed told fans they could 'go to hell' if they did not like his new Michael Jackson statue which he revealed at Craven Cottage stadium on Sunday.

So... is the statue behind that poorly executed mannequin of the black guy?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
