'Pink' kittens rescued from Redruth concrete plant
Four kittens whose fur turned pink while they were living in a concrete factory in Cornwall have been rescued.
The four-week-old kittens were discovered at the factory in Redruth last week and are being looked after by Cats Protection.
The one male and three females have been named Pink Panther, Clouseau, Dusty and Cerise.
It is thought they came into contact with red pigment used in concrete manufacturing, the charity said.
The kittens are being cared for at the charity's adoption centre in Truro.
Manager Claire Rowe said: "We see cats of many colours, shapes and sizes but this has to be a first for us.
"We've started cleaning them but it is going to take a bit more time to get them all back to their natural colours.
"We think the kittens were abandoned by their mum but we're hopeful they will fully recover and be able to enjoy a bright, but preferably not pink, future."

We all know Toto, but did you know that Dorothy also has a cat? Eureka is introduced as Dorothy's newly-acquired pet kitten in the fourth book, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, and is taken along with Dorothy and several other characters (including the Wizard himself) on a wild journey through several magic lands before ending up in Oz again, and quickly gains the ability to talk -- and unlike Toto, she turns out to have quite a lot to say, a large part of her dialogue consisting of rather sarcastic and sniping comments -- and she manages to get herself into quite a bit of trouble over it.
