married to the cat...

Postman marries his cat
May 4, 2010

A German postman has married his obese and asthmatic cat, Cecilia, saying he wanted to tie the knot before his elderly furry friend died, the Bild tabloid reported on Monday.

"Cecilia is such a trusting creature. We cuddle all the time and she has always slept in my bed," said Uwe Mitzscherlich, 39, from Possendorf near Dresden in eastern Germany.

"Our hearts beat as one - it's unique!"

Because marrying an animal is illegal, Mr Mitzscherlich paid €300 ($430) to a television actress to play officiator in the ceremony, while the groom's twin brother, Erik, served as witness.

The happy couple dressed up for the occasion, Mr Mitzscherlich in a wedding suit and top hat and 15-year-old Cecilia, who loudly miaowed her way through the exchanging of vows, in a white dress.

Mr Mitzscherlich is otherwise single

"Otherwise single"? One has to wonder why...

please let there be photos of this ... a cat in a wedding dress may just beat a dog in a hat as the funniest thing ever.

Ok. I know that men can get a little crazy over some pussy. But this is rediculous.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Sad really, how lonely do you have to be to form that kind of bond with an animal.

Maybe, maybe... but I seen to recall long ago the true story of a natural-born genderless person, that is: A person born without any sex organs at all, and otherwise a completely normal, average human being.

This person didn't have any live-in partners, not feeling the need for anything more than friends, but 'he' ('it' sounds a bit derogatory) ...did have a dog, which he said he slept and cuddled with. Not out of loneliness, just perhaps not needing human companionship.
