Doesn't strike me as funny - but then I don't find cruelty to animals all that humorous.

The person who filmed that strikes me as more than a wee bit sick.

+100

On a positive note, I now find the Dubliners overdubbed with ACDC to be far funnier than I found it before.

I don't see anything funny in the video.

If it were a cartoon it might be funny. Sorta like Wile E. Coyote Humor.

But unless a person enjoys watching animals getting killed or maimed, I don't see how he/she would find humor in the video.

People who laugh at animals being tortured are budding serial killers and should be treated as such i.e. locked up for the safety of anyone who might cross their path.

I think that's absolutely awful...You Tube should yank this video, and whoever posted it should be tracked down, arrested, and charged with animal cruelty.

I flagged it for review - YouTube community guidelines clearly prohibit videos of animal abuse, so hopefully someone will get around to reviewing it and take it down.

I just flagged it too...

Here's the direct link for anyone else who'd like to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3Ya6z-N ... re=related

Though I don't know what good it will do....

It was uploaded 4 years ago, and has over 700,000 views....

Thousands of people must have flagged it by now...

I see it's also spawned a bunch of copy cats....

Sick bastards...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

BTW, Here's the "defense" that the "gentleman" who posted this video posted:
*EDIT* This is for all you Peta Tards, People who have no life, People who have no life and try to bash on rednecks and fail, and other people who post comments saying they are going to show this to the police and have me arrested...

I DID NOT MAKE THIS VIDEO!

People
Eat
Tasty
Animals
First of all, the fact (if it is a fact) that he didn't "make this video" is no argument against it being yanked....

But what I find really offensive in what this ignoramus is attempting to convey is this idea:

"Either you think this is funny or you're a PETA type"....

Regular readers of this space will know that I am certainly NO "PETA type"....

I am a dedicated carnivore of long standing, who has little to no patience with those who would try to make the claim that the lives of lower animals have equal moral value to the lives of human beings...(which is one of the central tenets of PETA) I view that position as deeply morally confused...And I certainly do not believe that animals have "rights" in the same sense that human beings do....

One doesn't have to buy into any of the PETA philosophy to recognize the fact that anyone who would torture animals (who while they may not have" rights", can clearly feel pain) for their own amusement is one sick sumabitch...

I'll bet that even most "rednecks" who would agree with that...

Agreed Jim. The fact that this is in "Laffs" is quite disturbing.

Well, there is a 'special' class of people out there who find this sort of thing amusing...

Out of interest, are squirrels a 'pest' species in the US?

If so, I can understand some ignorant people reckoning this is a reasonable course of action to take (not that this is a reason for allowing it). If they are not a 'pest' species, tehn I can see no reason whatsoever for doing it in the first place.

We have issues with people playing Cane Toad golf up in the top-end of Oz. I would rather that wasn't done either.

The species may be a pest, but it is how you deal with them that separates us from being 'pests' too.

Squirrels are not generally considered to be "pests" here Hen....

They don't normally go into people's houses, or mix it up with pets...they don't rip up gardens...they spend most of their time in trees and avoid direct human contact, (though when I was in college we had some around that were so tame they would actually come up and eat out of your hand when you offered them food)

The only annoying thing they do is go after the seeds in bird feeders, but there are bird feeders designed to prevent this, and they aren't expensive...(we have one; I think we paid something like 30 bucks for it)

So this is just a case of mindless violence against animals for no other reason than because they could?

Wow. What an astonishing lack of humanity.
“Compassion is most important for happiness. We must treat fellow human beings as equal, that is very important, but also all beings who have capacity for feeling. So the innate desire for happiness that is the basis of human rights extends to all sentient beings, including animals and insects.”—His Holiness The Dalai Lama

No squirrels were harmed in the making of this video.

IRL they fall further out of trees or off roofs when in heat; and/or in pursuit of 'squirrel-proof' bird feeder fodder ...their natural resilience of gravity is what, I guess city-slickers aren't aware of. :shrug

Miles seems to be the only one to understand that squirrels line up for this 'thrill ride' over and over in pursuit of forage. A 'lawn and garden' industry has started because of this natural behavior;

'Twirl-a-Squirrel' a commercial anti-bird-feeder raider, deterrent;

You have no understanding of what you have just witnessed, obviously.

You must have been laughing too much to understand what was happening to these animals.

These squirrels did not fall.

These squirrels were thrown with great force towards trees.

Do you think I would believe the arseholes that put up this clip as being HONEST with their assessment of 'no sqirrels were injured'?

Perhaps we should try it with rabbits next?

You have a long way to go on your path to enlightenment.
