Distracted at the drive through

For the second time in my life today I drove off from the drive thru before getting my food because I was so lost in thought.
Has that ever happened to anyone else?

Don't usually use a drice-through except for an ATM.
Never forgotten the food when I did, though.

I've forgotten a bag from the grocery store...
What I really hate is getting 'cash back' at the grocery store: more than once the cashier has forgotten to give it to me, and I have to be the one to show proof with the receipt!
Strangely, they're usually disgruntle about that, like it was MY fault.

Hmmm, now I wonder if they don't do that on purpose, because not everyone will remember to go back for their cash; then the cashier could just pocket the money!
I had a cashier at Taco Bell drive-thru pull a stunt like that on me:
I was riding with my teenager and we had just come from the ATM, where the smallest bill you get was a $20. At the drive-thru, we make our order and the total amount due comes to $6.41, so I had over my newly acquired twenty dollar bill. The kid cashier hands back a bag of food, and a handful of coins ... now, I had been chatting it up with my teenager, but I noticed the problem.
"Where's the rest of it?" I ask. "What?" He counters.
"Where's the rest of my change? I gave you a twenty!"
Long story short, I made a stink with his manager, because he tried to say I'd give him a five and a one dollar bill. No, I had no other bills but twenty's, and my teenager could attest to that.

I forgot my cash back at the local shop, and walked out. Two days later the guy who owns the shop, "nice man Nick" as we call him, presented me with it, and told me off.

As Gob said, we don't do drive-throughs. Or, come to think of it, the establishments that have drive-throughs.

Hang about, we did go to a drive through bottle shop somewhere, didn't we?
I doubt if I forgot anything there...
