My wife's best friend is a nurse, she was working the ER on the early shift (in at 2am) on Christmas eve. Maybe 3am, a guy came in looking like he had tried to wrestle a barbed-wire fence. He was covered in scratches, two of which needed stitches and all of which needed to be cleaned and, in her words, "very intoxicated". She finally got the story from him: he bought a 30-pack the night before after work. He was off Christmas eve, so he was relaxing. After an undetermined (but considerable) number of beers, he decided to show Christmas spirit by...decorating his cat. 
As you can guess, the cat objected. Strenuously.
