Australian Parliament House trashes Obama mugs

CANBERRA, Australia — Australia's Parliament House gift shop trashed 200 Barack Obama commemorative mugs — though not because the U.S. president has twice canceled visits.
The mugs were destroyed Monday after a customer pointed out the president's name had been misspelled "Barrack."
A government official, who declined to be named citing departmental policy, said the error had been made by an official who ordered the mugs from a manufacturer.
Alan Thompson, head of the Department of Parliamentary Services, told The Canberra Times newspaper the error was embarrassing.
"He's a very important head of state. We take a lot of pride welcoming people like President Obama and we won't be having them on sale," Thompson was quoted as saying Tuesday.
Obama has twice canceled scheduled trips to Australia this year. He first bowed out so he could stay in Washington to shepherd his health reforms through Congress. He canceled a trip scheduled this month so he could concentrate on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

I thought it was spelled; "Bollocks Yo'Mama!"

Ha! I get it! What did you want to see him for anywayZ?

"We" didn't much, though our PM was hoping a visit from Obama would buoy up his flagging popularity...

My department is certainy releived he didn't come. We were going to have to authorise a number of secret service vehicles to be on our roads, as well as approve the hoards of hire cars that all the hangers-on who come along need to be driven in.
Phew. Saved by the cancellation. All's well again.
(I am hoping to get one of the mugs before the break them all.)
