Goal celebrations in soccer are a disgrace and should receive red cards for all concerned. Penalising the team helps as well - one thing that American 'football' has got right.
It's particularly obnoxious when a player scores a penalty and acts as if they've just climbed Everest. Well perhaps not.
"Try to look as if you've done it before, son" is the coach's advice to a player who scores a goal.
Here in South Africa where a zero-zero draw is quite normal for the ABSA Premiership, the above advice does not compute. Hence we get full scale toi toi all over the pitch - very low class

if you can't score an Oscar for the celebration, then the points should be withdrawn if you look like you are trying too.

That's just bitterness because so many of them happen against Spurs...
