In Italy, it’s now illegal to insult somebody’s masculinity
The United States Supreme Court has recently addressed health care, immigration laws and copyright protections, while in Italy they’re debating … men’s private parts.
In a longstanding case, the Italian high court ruled it illegal to tell a man he has “no balls.” The case was brought by a lawyer who got into a courtroom argument with his cousin.
According to the AFP:
“Apart from the vulgarity of the term used, the expression definitely also has an injurious quality,” the male judge, Maurizio Fumo, said in his ruling as quoted by Italian news agency ANSA.
“It refers not only to the target’s lack of virility but also to his weakness of character, lack of determination, competence and coherence — virtues that, rightly or wrongly, are still identified as pertaining to the male gender.”
The verdict will result in a fine for the offending cousin. And a lot of verbal editing for the men of Italy in years to come.
Leaves one to wonder are Itallian men that insecure and what about their perchant for pinching women's asses?
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
It's ridiculous stuff like this that clogs Italian courts and makes it virtually impossible to deal with real crime, like the all the trials launched against Berlusconi that had to be dismissed for not being completed quickly enough.
