Sofia Vergara has proven that she is not one to forgo a party, even if fine couture is involved.

The Colombian star last night gave the Emmys after-parties her best shot - and managed to have a major wardrobe malfunction as a result.

The Modern Family actress tweeted a picture of her exposed derriere after over-zealous moves on the dance floor saw the zip break on her Zuhair Murad gown.




The emebellished, mermaid-esque turquoise number was patched up on site, not that 40-year-old Ms Vergara seemed to have a care in the world.


"20 min Modern Family won!! Dress malfunction !!! Thank you emergency team!!" she wrote to her 2.8 million Twitter followers.

The series of blurred photos shows the beautiful brunette laughing, shimmying to drums and apparently dancing the limbo - or is that crowdsurfing? A gaggle of handsome onlookers watched Vergara with cameras, smartphones and, a little incongruously, bongos.

"This is how the Colombians partyyy at the Emmys!!" she tweeted shortly after telling the world: "I party like a mermaid!"

It's perhaps no wonder the intricate gown sprung a leak.

These days the Modern Family star, who naturally boasts a 32F chest, is more than happy to show off her enviable figure but she confessed that her spokesperson once suggested to her that she might reduce her bust size in order to land more roles.[he's either gay or blind or insane!]

She told the host: 'I’m very proud of my body and the way I look. I would be ungrateful to be saying, ‘Oh, I’m so mad because people just look at me and see my pretty face.’
