A man convicted of delivering cocaine has been arrested again - after turning up to court with three grams of the drug.

Alex Robinson, 37, from Aurora, Colorado, was arrested for allegedly violating his probation.

But when he turned up to Kane County Court to answer the charges he was arrested again after security discovered cocaine in his pockets.

Robinson was forced to empty his pockets at the courthouse metal detector and dropped a bag with three grams of cocaine into a bin.

Kane County Sheriff’s Lt. Pat Gengler told the Chicago Sun-Times: 'I don’t know how you forget. It’s not like you don’t know there’s a checkpoint coming up.'

Robinson was in the security line ahead of his case being heard when the metal detector sounded.

Security guards asked him to make sure there was nothing in his pockets that might be setting off the detector but when he emptied them a bag of cocaine fell into the tray to be scanned.

Police claim he tried to leave the scene but was arrested

Robinson was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

This is a guy who ought to be in jail for his own good...

Before he runs over his foot with a lawn mower, or wanders into heavy traffic....
