St Louis was a great competitor but not quite as good as the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS.

Although I've been a long-time detractor of Barry Bonds, I've finally seen the light. He is the most dominant and most feared hitter in the past 50 years at least, possibly of all time. NOBODY in the history of the game can match his combination of quick bat and batting eye. He gets fooled on a pitch and still crushes the ball.
It's time he got to the World Series. I fear, however, that he will be pitched around to such an extent that he may not be a major factor - other than indirectly - in the outcome.
I will also like seeing some of my other favorite players (Schmidt, Santiago, Kent) in the Fall Classic.
The Cardinals, for their part, deserved to lose the NLCS. One rarely sees so many instances where key players fail to advance runners, fail to drive in critical runs, and look just plain inept at the plate.
I only recently realized that my main enjoyment in playoff baseball the past several years has been rooting against the Braves and the Yankees. Now I've had to do some reading to learn about a new group of participants - and I'm glad to do it.
The ratings are going to be horrible, though.

That was my only gripe was that LaRussa didnt have the balls to let his pitchers take on Bonds. Whats that say about LaRussa's confidence in his pitchers? I know one thing, he doesnt have the confidence in fatboy Kline. Maybe chunky should have put a clean hat on?

Give La Russa a break! He watched Kirk Gibson, who was so crippled up with a back injury he could barely move, crush a very good pitch by the best reliever in baseball of that decade (Dennis Eckersley) to lose the first game of the WS.
This is the "All Dodgers" series! with Dusty Baker and Big Mike Scioscia managing the teams!

It aint a "all Dodgers" series. Unless there is a Dodge uniform on the field that I'm not aware of.
Give LaRussa a break? Why because he's too much of a puss to throw against Bonds? Like I said, it shows the confidence or lack there of, in his pitchers.
