7 of the 20 are unavailable in the U.S. (the Vauxhall, the Alfa, the 2 Renaults, and the 3 Skodas).
WTF? SKODA????? Who knew?
(Yeah, I knew they existed...but I had no idea they were any good...)

No American cars, why is that?

An annual Driver Power survey by Auto Express magazine, which this year teamed up with the Telegraph, has revealed the best cars to own based on feedback from more than 46,000 readers. The survey questioned motorists on all aspects of car ownership, including reliability, running costs, comfort, performance and handling, with each car getting a score out of 100. So, without further ado, let's see what made the top 20 for 2013
The Daily Telegraph is a daily morning broadsheet newspaper, published in London and distributed throughout the United Kingdom and internationally. The newspaper was founded by Arthur B. Sleigh in June 1855 as The Daily Telegraph and Courier, and since 2004 has been owned by David and Frederick Barclay.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: The 20 best cars to own in 2013
Good god! What a bunch of soulless cars.
Middle aged golfers and school run grandmothers must have been the only people voting in that survey.
Oh wait! This was commissioned by the daily telegraph - that figures.
And a lack of American cars can be explained quite easily. They just don't sell we'll here. Chrysler and Dodge have tried to break the UK market but most of the cars are crap on mpg and emissions as well as being really ugly compared to European and Asian cars.
The nice looking cars that you do make over there are never produced in right hand drive.
I'd have a Dodge Ram in a heartbeat if they were available in RHD.

Actually, I doubt whether anyone would have ever mentioned "reliability" and "Jaguar" in the same sentence before the Ford takeover...Crackpot wrote:Any vehicle without serious electrical problems is automatically eliminateddales wrote:No American cars, why is that?
ETA: Daisy - the Jag XKR looks like it'd be fun to drive....and while they might be boring, I'd sure never turn down a Mercedes E-Class or a BMW 5-series if someone offered me one. (But then again, I am an old fart....

My next car is going to be the Toyota GT86. Unless Hyundai see sense and bring back a nice two plus two coupe.

Nice to see the Subaru Forrester got in, that's our next car. (We love "old Greg" our Subaru Liberty.)

Come to think of it, it does seem really odd that there were only two Japanese cars on that list. Especially with 5 British cars, 3 Czech cars, and 2 French (!!!) cars listed.

If Trabant were still in business, there offerings would be included on the list.
