A "DOC"-UMENTARY

Re: A "DOC"-UMENTARY
You beat me to it RayThom. Doc's has had several flights now. I have pix taken as it flew over my office twice last weekend.
A friend of Doc's, one of only two B-29 bombers still flying.
Re: A "DOC"-UMENTARY Video
I asked for and received permission to post this video link here. If anyone wants to re-post it elsewhere, please contact josh@b-29doc.com for permission.

I especially enjoyed the part where Doc plows a furrow through the clouds just below at about 3:00.

A "DOC"-UMENTARY
Was there any CGI involved with this clip? Some of it looked quite surreal. Also, what type of chase plane was used to capture the video? It was surely one of the noisiest I've ever heard.
As far as donations go, has Disney offered up anything to the project? That image of Doc alone is great advertising for Snow White and the Seven Little People.

Re: A "DOC"-UMENTARY
As far as I am aware, that was the original name of this specific aircraft. It is the only survivor of a squadron of eight planes based at Griffiss AFB (NY) in the 1950s that were named after and displayed nose art depicting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs characters; so the name and graphics are historically accurate rather than being an homage to or a commemoration of a different aircraft. So Disney really had nothing to do with it, not now and probably not in the 1950s, either.RayThom wrote:As far as donations go, has Disney offered up anything to the project? However, it would be a nice touch if the Disney Company were to come up with some funds toward the restoration or operating expenses. And who knows? Maybe they have, on the Q.T. and without all the ballyhoo.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: A "DOC"-UMENTARY
Actually I'm more surprised that Disney hasn't tried to go after Doc's Friends for copyright infringement. I've heard that they have gone after folks who used unauthorized images of Micky Mouse.
