I think those are the real tire sizes for the rear of that car.

It looks like a race or rally? If the driver had flipped the car, as it appeared it might, then those people standing in the field were in a bad spot.

Yes the original mini performed very well in salon races, except it had to pit for new tires more often than for fuel.
In this particular clip I am reminded that cars can recover from very bad situations. But the driver must continue to drive, not close their eyes and hopeless announce 'I lost control!'
