I drove a Toyota SR5 pickup from 1980 to 1996 and then sold it for $2500.00 and bought the larger Toyota T100. The SR5 never had any rust and the only thing I ever had to replace was the fuel pump. Of course, I've always maintained my cars well, so I'm sure that made a difference.

Joe is in California. I recall Liberty1 is in Arizona. That being, the fucking desert! You know, where an inch of snow is front-page headlines, road salt simply doesn't exist, and rain is newsworthy? In places that actually get, you know snow, sleet, rain, and road salt, they rust!

California gets heaps of snow, Jarl.

Where do you think our hydro-electric power and drinking water come from?

And Lib 1 is in New Mexico which also receives snowfall.

Neither gets snow like the northeast, except high in the mountains where almost nobody lives.

Here in Montana where we get plenty of snow all over, it's still an arid climate like most of the West and cars are not subject to the constant humidity, not to mention the salt tossed on the road in vast quantities (they don't use it at all here - just sand).

I've seen very old Toyotas in good shape and still on the road out here and in Arizona. Not hardly in Maine or Massachusetts. But that's just my experience.

I presume you are all aware of the Tacoma frame fiasco, right?

Frames rot to garbage right out from under the truck?

Frames being replaced under warranty (something I'd never even heard of before), thousands of owners complaining of trucks that were too compromised to drive?

Check the ads for any previous generation Tacoma. If the truck has not had its frame replaced, it is dangerous junk.

Not that the Tacoma is not a wonderful truck. Otherwise.

Actually, that was a recall...Toyota is (well, was) buying them back at I think 125% of the KBB value.
