Found out I'm going to get reamed by my insurance, as expected.
Bonus: none of the held mail from vacation has been delivered. Again.

So now they’re not fixing it? I’m getting confused . . .

The dealership actually did a detailed repair estimate, which was over $10,000. The bike stickered for $11,499 NEW in 2014.

So you'll get what? The 'Blue Book' value of a four-year-old bike, right? Somehow I don't necessarily think of that as getting reamed.
Sure it's got personal/sentimental value to you, but there's no way to put a dollar figure on that, is there?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

There you go. An excellent opportunity to build that 3-wheeler.

Sue (and others) could tell you better than me, but you should check out the uninsured part of your policy and the PIP. You have a claim for any medical, and you may have a claim for the emotional distress, lost income, etc. If you are paying for this coverage, you should take advantage of it to help soften the blow of losing the bike.

Naw, I understand. Sorry. I just liked the look of that Harley/sidecar combo, and I don't think anyone would call
that a trike. Kinda cool...YMMV.
(BTW, on the site that pic came from they also show
the same bike with a matching trailer . Just in case you prefer a
5 -wheeler!

And...first offer from insurance is more than I paid for the bike.

You must have a different definition of 'reamed' than I'm used to.
But I'd still take the money and run before they come to their senses.

Not since '81.
Just look at these trike riders. You can easily see they all used to ride two wheelers years ago. I bet they all have stories to tell about accidents as to why they gave up their traditional rides.
