One more CD and I;m done for the night.

AotW made a big fucking mistake letting AL Jourgensen anywhere near their mix. All he does is cut out the high end and make it sound like every other Ministry song.

Neat!

I've been thinking for some time about getting all my music off discs, catalogued and onto some form of player.

i-pod seems the best way to go.

I love the idea of creating playlists..

Playlists.

1 Miserable music.
2 Very miserable music.
3 Hide the razor blades.
4 Just end it all eh?
5 Leonard Cohen.
6 My music...

As the post seems to have been eaten this am:

I was intending to get a classice but was sold on the touch since it doesn't have a hard drive (which can get damaged by shaking) aand that it still can fit my entire cd collection on it and then some.

Yep, that's a downside.

But my collection is so vast now (especially since I found P2P) that I need all the space on a 120 gig, and possibly up to a 160 gig.

I have a couple of hundred CD's of early music to start with.

Took me that long to get 'Blossum as Hawkgirl' to my phone.

Almost paid money for that too.

Still listen to the radio, rather than iPod. :nana

I was like you didn't get a cell until I left town for a short term job. Now I don't have a home phone.

I long resisted the Ipod as well but I just got tired of lugging CDs around.

Actually, technically speaking I have two cell phones in my name, the one my wife has and the one my daughter has. I refuse. If I ever did get a cell phone I would get one of those pre-pay phones. Heck, I don't answer the landline at home nor at work. The answering machine is the greatest invention ever. ;)

And I am not much of a music listener, so the iPad would be lost on me.

Not that I am anti technology (I am an electrical engineer :o ), I just don't see the need for much of it (at least for me anyway).

That's what I have now- a pay-as-you-go phone that I got at the discount store (Big Lots™) for only $12! ...and no land line, why waste the money?

Being a lo-tek, the last time I tried (about 5 years ago) to download music, I got about a bazillion viruses. If I plugged an ipod into my ear, I'd probably fry my brain synapses somehow.

That's what I'm talking about. I would just like one for when I go upstate/Maine/hunting/snowmobiling by myself "just in case".

I can't count how many viruses my computer got from my daughter downloading music (around the same timeline, must have been a big time for viruses tacking on to music). It got so bad I just bought her her own computer and forbid her to use mine.
