My daughter and her family rented a Mazda for a vacation this summer. It has a little label on the back that said 'Skyactiv" I have seen the same label on Mazda cars in front of me in traffic. My brother bought a new CX5 about a month ago. I asked him what the Skyactiv meant. He told me he had no clue.

So I have been thinking about it. Sky. Active. (the final e is implied) What could that be? Then I had a flash of understanding. When The Rapture happens, the good people will be snatched up into heaven and all will be glorious--for them. The 'Left Behind' as was fully explained in the books, would not have it so great. As The Rapture happens in the twinkling of an eye, those left behind would find cars empty and abandoned as their occupants are now in Heaven.

But with SKYACTIV(c) if you are really good, you get to take your Mazda into the sky and to heaven with you! Oh the wonder of modern design working with the Devine Designer of the universe.

According to their propaganda anyway,the little mazda pickups turned me against the marque,you usually seen them sitting in the back lot with warped cylinder heads ,on the other hand the little "Escape " SUV(or Tribute) seems to be okay (the only thing my Dodge Dakota would hold its own against ) So I guess they are a pretty good vehicle now ( except for the Grin on the front from the "Garfield " comic strip ,cant remember the Dogs name )

Good observation and true. Few people realize that Mazda Skyactiv means Stairway to Heaven in Ledbanese...
