Most aftermarket spoilers are totally useless, even at speeds over 100 MPH. Wind tunnel studies have shown that most of them cause LIFT to the rear wheels rather than the downward force that is desired.

Can you imagine the contortions required for the girl in the picture to get under the spoiler/table? I'd have to say that spoiler is pretty useless too. Besides, she can't reach her drink that she left on the pavement. She'll probably kick it over trying to extricate herself.

The cup is on a wall (probably not even her drink), her feet are below it. I'm thinking that she most likely sat on the trunk near the window and then lifted her legs up, around, and under. Besides, she appears to be, what, a hundred pounds soaking wet? Regardless how she got under the spoiler/table I doubt if she has experienced any of the physical challenges of older age... yet.

I (just barely) remember street cars...

My wifes lancer has a spoiler. Annoying as hell as it blocks much of the view from the rearview mirror.

When I was in the Norfolk/Virginian Beach VA area a week ago I saw similar beautiful new street cars.--my grand-daughter informed me that is not was they are called. It is the light rail system.

But I saw no spoilers on the rear. The front did however come very close to the ground. That is also sometimes called a spoiler.
