Fuckity fuck fuck
Lost my iPod. I use the damn thing daily at work so it's kind of a necessity. Don't want to shell out the money to replace it right now. Plus my luck I'll find the old one as soon as I replace it.

Is it on? If so have your service carrier ping its location.

It's an iPod no phone service just Wifi if it's in range and has power.

Re: Fuckity fuck fuck
I misplaced my iPod once and was able to locate it with the 'Find iPhone' app on another iPod. The lost iPod wasn't turned on but it started beeping when I activated the app and then I found it under my couch.
Re: Fuckity fuck fuck
Since there is no evidence of it being found I fugue even the most innocent would check email. It's either hiding somewhere in my house or Fubar.

Re: Fuckity fuck fuck
I don't think I ever set it up on the thing. It's an 3rd gen so it's ancient and half the stuff doesn't update anymore.

Do you have a smartphone? If so...why not just play music on that?

So buy the new one, find the old one and take the new one back for a refund
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Found it exactly in the type of place I expected to find it out in the open obscured by something that couldn't possibly be hiding it.

Karl my collection (music, podcasts, audiobooks) is so big that my phone couldn't store it and do the things I need my phone to do. As is I need to manage the audiobooks stored so I don't run over the IPods limit.

No SD cards for an iPhone; in fact, as far as I know iPhone has never allowed for expandable memory. However, the newest version, the iPhone 7/7 Plus, comes with up to 256 GB of memory (for $200 more than the basic 32GB memory model), which strikes me as being more than adequate unless you're trying to store the entire iTunes music library in there.Jarlaxle wrote:You just need a bigger SD card.
Even Samsung's flagship phone (the Galaxy S-7), which does allow one to use a micro-SD card, will only support cards up to 256 GB. But you still have to purchase the SD card separately, so cost and memory-wise, it's still pretty much of a wash between Apple and Samsung.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I too am working with an iPod touch. For those who don't know--that device is an iPhone without the phone function. Do it with wifi.
No SD card or chip--use the iCloud. mine is several years old, but has the latest software OS. What it does not have is the camera hardware of the iPhone 7 Don't miss it, I like using a real camera.
BUT. There is a locator option, that you need another Apple device to find the lost one with. And you have to have turned on that system before you lost it.
But yes, I feel your pain. Way back in the 20th century I was a big fan of the Filofax system. I had everything in that. When I lost-(misplaced) it twice in one month, I bought a PalmPilot which had just been introduced. I learned to love that thing even more. I had everything on it AND it was backed up on my desktop computer. If I misplaced it, I still had everything on my computer. I kept up with the updates from Palm, but never used their phone. The last time I depended on it, my employer sent me to Europe for two weeks and I had a five language translator chip for it. I still have two Palm V which work just fine, except I cannot back them up with a computer any more. But they do work.I even had a full size keyboard that connected via bluetooth and folded up. The palm did use standard SD chips and I had all the international gov regs I needed at work plus the Physicians Desk Reference and the Merck Index on 2 chips.
So go buy another iPod similar to your old one--should be cheap on the white box market and this time turn on the 'find me' gimmick.

H#ll, I've never misplaced my record player.

I know a couple people with more than 150GB of just MUSIC. (Both are musicians.) I don't have anything like their collections, but I did have to replace the SD card in my Galaxy...it came with a 16GB, and that isn't enough.Bicycle Bill wrote:No SD cards for an iPhone; in fact, as far as I know iPhone has never allowed for expandable memory. I have a hard drive with 500GB of music on it, not including my own stuff.
