Of course the "mission" is to go to an airshow.

Skeptics said it would never happen, especially after Boeing left town and pulled their support, and great big hangar. It was all done with volunteer labor.
I have no control over the ad that pops up before the B-29 Video. I don't even know Banter Automotive, although I think their ad is cute.

I saw no ads. But I'll tell you one thing ... if 'Doc' flies in and goes on display anywhere within about a 4-hour drive of LSE (except for maybe Oshkosh Airfest — I can't afford to take that much time off to do something like that the way it should be done), I'm gonna be there.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

BB, It's too bad you don't like Oshkosh. It's only about 150 miles. You could ride your bike there, given a little time. Granted it is a vast sea of people and planes.

Done.
Didn't say I wouldn't like to or don't want to go to Oshkosh. It's just that going to an extravaganza like Airventure to see just one airplane is sort of like going to Disneyland and only seeing "It's a Small World". Give me a week off work with pay, a WalMart parking lot to park the van at night, and a $5000 credit limit on my Visa card and I'm there.

No, that's a fate far worse than death; you couldn't pay me enough to go on that ride again.sort of like going to Disneyland and only seeing "It's a Small World"

The only reason I go on Its A Small World is because it has very good air conditioning. At least it used to.
Death is Nature's way of telling you to slow down.

Loved that ride when I was 7! Bit of an earworm, though . . .

Bit of an earworm? That's like saying Katrina caused a bit of flooding.
FWIW, the last time I went on that ride was about 16-17 years ago at Disneyland with my younger daughter--it was near Christmas and they changed that worst song in the world to Disney themed Christmas carols, and that was a vast improvement.
