Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I once snapped the head off a bolt in my washing machine using a large socket wrench and a black iron pipe as a cheater bar. I then found out it was a reverse thread.

Remember when Chrysler product cars always had wheel lugs on one side reverse threaded? They said it was safer.

But BB, I love it. I printed a copy and sent it to my brother-in-law who is heavily into diy for stuff he is totally ignorant about. My sister, his wife, has lots of stories.

God hates left-handed threads; they are a communist plot.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Right-handed threads are fascist and want to dictate the direction of all threads .

From my boy scout days:

This is the story of Dead Eye Dick
He was the man with a corkscrew prick
He went through the world on a tragic hunt
To find a girl with a corkscrew cunt
And when he found her, he fell down dead
Because her cunt had a left hand thread

The things that stick with me after decades...

To Liberty and Joe Guy, you should have tried being a bicycle mechanic in the previous century. French, English, Swiss, Italian, all had different threads, and many brands of bicycle mixed up the component parts from all over the world. And then 14/15/16mm cone wrenches from Europe and Japan were different size.

ISO standards were very welcome change

You were definitely in a different troop.

If I recall correctly, we even had a tune for it and used to sing it around the campfire when the scoutmaster wasn't around; it was the first time I ever learned screws and bolts had right and left hand thread, so even though my youth may have been misspent, I did learn something.
