This is a link to a Handle device on Amazon that slips into the door latch loop and provides an extra handle to get in and out of the vehicle. I am getting to an age where that looks attractive. There are many similar items available in that area of Amazon. All of them actually give a six inch lever to pry the latch right out of the frame of the car. One reviews points this out. Such an event would leave you on the ground with a major expense to fix the damage.

Is that a realistic possibility only if the frame has hidden damage or major rust or you weight 400+ pounds?

I note that out of 169 ratings and 24 written reviews, the review you linked to is the only one with this complaint—and, significantly, that reviewer did not claim that this had actually happened to her or to anyone she knew; she only theorized that this COULD happen. Based on the overwhelming number of positive reviews and ratings, I'm guessing that this scenario is not a real thing that has really happened to any real people.
