...way in the back-40 of a truck stop parking lot, some jackass backed a blue Honda Civic into my bus. He then took off. FUCK!

Bent my bumper and put a big scrape in the bumper paint. Liz and I were able to pull the bumper off of the body sheetmetal...looks like I get to replace it when I get home.

A few miles down the road, we passed a car pulled over to the side. It was an older Civic, medium blue, with the rear bumper broken...and a piece of it appeared to have been pushed into the tire. This eventually wore through and blew the tire.

By the time I realized it was the car that hit me, I was in the centre lane and too close to pull over safely. Otherwise, I would have.

Yeah, I was gonna reply to Jarl's original post by telling him to console himself with the fact that whatever the damage to his bus, the Civic probably had a lot more damage. Nice to find out that not only was that correct, but the damage also rendered his car undriveable after only a few miles. (Whereas if he'd stopped to do the right thing after the accident, Jarl probably wouldn't have let him pull away without at least getting that bumper away from the tire!

)
