know that most conservation types would probably think this is heresy but...
I would really like to see the mountain gorillas, chimps, and bonobos, maybe even orangs, turned loose in suitable areas where they have a chance to thrive. the lowland gorillas seem to have a recently discovered stronghold in the congo basin, but perhaps them as well.
I think south America, and parts of asia could support these fellows for a long time yet. their future in Africa looks pretty bleak.
I realize that native species would be impacted but I think the reward is worth the risk.
after much observation I am convinced that these creatures are intelligent, self aware, loving, capable of complex thought and emotion, and that they are not alone in having these qualities in the animal kingdom. I also believe that they have a soul similar to us.
perhaps they are the creatures who did not eat of the tree of knowledge yet.
perhaps they are the meek who will inherit this earth....
