Which is the larval form of these:

Harmless in and of themselves, they usually hatch en masse and then swarm around lights in their attempts to mate and reproduce (and subsequently die).  Their hatches are sometimes so prolific and involve so many insects that they have even been picked up on weather radar, and it goes without saying that they can become quite a nuisance....

(the above pictures are from NOAA and were taken in July 2014 during a huge mayfly hatch along my portion of the Upper Mississippi River)
to the point that it sometimes becomes necessary to call out snow-removal equipment to remove their lifeless bodies from bridges and overpasses.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Great story, I want one as a pet. Hen is not keen.

I want a snake or a dragon, the small bearded ones, or an iguana. Husband is not keen on it.

I once had 12 garter snakes, 11 females and one male. Then I had hundreds of garter snakes.

Sorry to disagree ,but as a former avid angler ,I can tell you a Hellgramite and mayfly are not the the same thing ,a mature Hellgramite looks almost as viscious as its larva(big jaws ) I believe a caddis fly is similar to the Mayfly . Which is maybe what you were thinking of .

Yup
I remember sitting under a spotlight and there was a mature hellgramite (dobsonfly) on the house wall. Big thing with big pincers. I think it was eating the other bugs.
