not sure if this will be carried by all PBS stations but there is a show on tonite at 8 pm, Nature: india s wandering lions
not certain, but they may be the last Asiatic lions that survive, tho there may still be a few in Persia IIRC
promises to be interesting, as the locals and the lions seem to have reached a sort of truce, aided by the gov t, IIRC
this is a new special and apparently there has been great progress in ensuring the survival of the species in a section of india since I last studied the subject....
eta- nope, apparently the last of the Persian lions were killed in 1944
why do such thoughts make me want to puke?
we ve done a helluva job managing our "dominion" , eh?
when the big guy comes back to check on his garden he ain t gonna be happy
progress...., you can have it. it ll be the death of us all
cheers to india.
