As R. Zimmerman said, I don't need a weatherman

Post by Burning Petard »

Can somebody explain the present data I get from the Weather Channel:

Current temperature: 36. Today's Predicted High: 61 Predicted Low: 48 And the day definitely is defined as the calendar day, midnite to midnite.

Doesn't this shoot down any confidence in their predictions? How hard could it be to include in the algo that the predicted low must always be equal to or lower than the current temperature, or that the predicted high must be equal to or higher than the current temperature?
They do claim the prediction is constantly updated in real time.

I've noticed that a few times. I've always taken as evening lows. Since any fool can figure out the temperature now but the evening temp remains to be seen.

Btw go with NOAA far more reliable
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

In this area, quite frequently the daily low temperature is around sunrise. That is not 'evening' for me.

As it is around here but if you have already "bottomed out" noting a low that has already passed does no good.

In keeping with the Dylan quote in the thread title...I usually use Weather Underground.*
