I spent many years aiding in Customer Service for a software package. It was an expensive operation, but if you didn’t do it diligently you’d lose customers to the competition. It was all done person to person, whether by phone or email. Modern customer service all seems to be done by AI, with no human intervention, and no place to ask questions that will get answered. The apparent human contact is one of the appeals of this website. If the rest of you are not human beings but merely a subroutine in a massive AI machine please don’t tell me. I couldn’t handle it.
