Anybody remember NASA's 'Pioneer' probes from the 1970s?

Post by Bicycle Bill »

Back in the 1970s, NASA send a series of probes.   Originally they were sent to the moon, but later ones went to further distant planets, and it was realized that they would eventually depart our solar system — so NASA included a metal plate to the probes 'Pioneer 10' and 'Pioneer 11' on which was etched a drawing, just in case sometime in the future and across the far-flung vastness of space some other form of intelligent life would find this and realize that they were not alone either.

The plate looked like this —

Well, NASA recently announced that they had received a reply!!   After thorough investigation and analysis, they have finally released it to the public.

The message reads:

Humans —
Please don’t send us any more unsolicited nude pics with instructions on how to get to your house.
It’s creepy!

Sincerely,
The Aliens

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
