A company claims to have found the ideal product to help travellers counter the ill effects of jet lag and long-haul flights.
The 'Ostrich Pillow' is a new portable device that its inventors say will "enable power naps anytime, anywhere," including in airport lounges and on planes.
Stuffed with synthetic material – "for maximum performance and lightness", according to its inventors – the distinctive-looking pillow has a hole in which to put your head, and a mouth hole designed to allow its wearer to breath easily. It also has two side holes where you can store your hands – if napping at a table in a library, for example.
Its creators argue that it genuinely works, saying: “We have tried it in airports, trains, aeroplanes, libraries, at the office, on a sofa and even on the floor and it’s really wonderful.” Photo: Kawamura-Ganjavian
The concept was developed by Kawamura-Ganjavian, an architecture and design studio with offices in Madrid and Lausanne.
Among other products, the company has also been responsible for developing the "ear shell" (a "sound enhancing device" that is attached to the ear), and a solar plug for charging portable computers.
The Ostrich Pillow has been described on the technology web site CNET as like “a giant garden squash gone soft”, while another reviewer for the Digital Trends website wrote: “We can only wonder how the pillow holds up on sweat and heat retention”.

The Ostrich Pillow will go into production if its fundraising targets are met. The company is currently trying to collect $US70,000 ($A67,000) on Kickstarter, a funding website for creative business ideas. The tally of pledges so far is slightly more than $US35,000 ($A33,500) with 23 days remaining.

Um, I throw a jacket over my face. Works fine; looks cooler.

Been all over the world via Naval military service.
Re: A cure for jetlag...
It doesn't look cooler BTW. It just looks like most other travellers.
Tired and desperate.
I doubt I would ever wear Sponge Bob's testicle either.

But this guy would....

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I can't sleep on planes. Doubt very much if that thing will help. Looks like it would make your head hot and I can't sleep with a hot head.

I can't sleep with a hot redhead.

You don't tend to sleep with any hot women.

I can't sleep on planes either, and I'm pretty sure that contraption wouldn't help. For one thing, just the thought how goofy that thing looks would probably keep me awake...
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Re: A cure for jetlag...
The whole key to reducing jetlag is getting some sleep.
I can sleep onboard planes just fine, but then I'm a small person and can get more comfortable in those seats.
A pillow is nice; but a mask? Meh. Planes aren't that annoyingly bright, especially if you're flying at night.
Otherwise staying awake that long is boring ...and boredom puts me sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

As soon as I fall asleep on planes I get the "twitches" and startle myself awake. Almost broke my wifes nose one time twitching.
Re: A cure for jetlag...
Ack, was stuck on plane flight next to a guy like that...
He could sleep, but would start awake flailing, with a cry. I got flailed to the shoulder enough times, to realize that I wasn't going to get any sleep myself.
