Was that when you were sixteen going on seventeen?

I would assume that Jim is seventeen going on eighteen, "older and wiser," and telling us what to do.

Here's a really delightful Von Trapp Family Reunion interview from just two years ago on the Today show... (All the kids and Julie Andrews...she's certainly held up well....the only one who wasn't there was Christopher Plummer, because was working on a project in Europe)
(Near the end, they all sing "Doe a Deer")

Re: Amsterdam gets tough with scum
You look happy to meet me.

On a side note
When I spent the summer of 1975 in Germany, I came across Edelwiess growing on the Zugspitz. I left it there as the signs said Please Do not Pick the Flowers. I did buy an Edelwiess from the gift shop and it is on my German Alps hat to this day.
PS
Many of the ladies were sunbathing without thier tops on (and no bras on either) that day on the top of the mountain. quite a sight for a 17 yo boy from America

A flower so beautiful, it holds our Fuhrer in it's power,Small and white, clean and bright...
Adolf Hitler's favorite flower, is the simple Edelweiss...

Have you followed the total clusterfuck with Julie's voice? She wasn't singing there, she was "speak-singing" and you can hear, only in the low registers. She had throat surgery in 1997, a piece of her vocal chords got clipped, and she has had almost no voice. There was a recent article on Boston.com about the projects she is working on now, but she has pretty well given up on every really singing again -- a very sad loss.Lord Jim wrote:Here's a really delightful Von Trapp Family Reunion interview from just two years ago on the Today show... I had heard about that. Quite the F$%^-up from what I remember.
Sad really, as she was a fantastic singer.

Mary Poppins is a great movie....
I say that not just because I have a fond memory of when it came out, and it being one of the first films I remember seeing in a theater with my father, (Thunderball being the other one) and not just because it has that sort of timeless charm to it, (much like The Wizard Of Oz) where generation after generation of children can see it and still enjoy it....
No, what makes Mary Poppins a truly great film....
Is the fact that Dick Van Dyke does the most believable and authentic sounding cockney accent in the history of motion pictures....
