The Last Roll of Kodachrome

Post by Econoline »

National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry shot the very last roll of Kodachrome film to come off the Kodak production line.

The story (video)

The gallery (36 frames)

What about Ektachrome?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Some classic portraits there! (Would have been better with a digital slr and photoshop though. ;) )

If you watched the video you saw that, because he had only 36 shots and no extra film to waste, McCurry took a lot of test shots with his digital camera. It was an interesting experiment, and the results were spectacular and worthy of the historical significance of the project.

That said, the artistry in photography is always not in the camera or the film or the pixels, but in the photographer. (That was a compliment to you, Gob, in case you hadn't noticed! ;) )
